Walking Tall - Physical Theater Program
Walking Tall is the physical theater program presented by the Adrienne Arsht Center in local community centers. It introduces skills such as clowning and juggling, stilt walking, acrobatics and aerial work. With the 07-08 season, Walking Tall's programming begins its fourth year and is the perfect gateway activity to reach at-risk and underserved young people. Every kid knows about the circus and all the fun activities that take place under the big top so teachers are able to introduce elements of performing arts through the circus arts aspect of physical theater. Community centers welcome an arts-related activity that includes an athletic element in a non-competitive and cooperative environment that appeals to boys and girls of various ages. In the end, everyone is having a great time getting fit and performing exciting circus acts.
